Decide the format before the first tee, not after. These four courses are not comparable. Blue Canyon Canyon rates 74.8 off 7,179 yards; Loch Palm is the course reviewers describe as not particularly difficult. A straight gross aggregate over four rounds will not crown the best golfer — it will crown whoever least destroyed himself on Friday. Recommendation: Stableford points off agreed handicaps, best three of four rounds, so one blow-up does not end anyone's week on day two. Fix every handicap in writing before Thursday's tee at Loch Palm and allow no revisions afterwards. Break ties on countback over the Red Mountain round — hardest course, last day, most theatre.

Blue Canyon — Canyon Course
Mai Khao, Thalang · 07:20 tee
The headline round of the trip and the hardest. Opened December 1991, designed by Yoshikazu Kato on an abandoned tin mine flanked by rubber plantations. The only three-time host of the Johnnie Walker Classic (1994, 1998, 2007) — the 1998 edition is the one where Tiger Woods came from eight strokes back on the final day to beat Ernie Els in a playoff. Holes 13, 14 and 17 are cut into the canyon itself; 13 is nicknamed the Tiger Hole.

Blue Canyon — Lakes Course
Mai Khao, Thalang · 07:30 tee
Kato's second Blue Canyon layout, opened 1999. Wider fairways and more generous greens than the Canyon, but water is in play on 17 of the 18 holes — bring more balls than you think. The 18th was named Asian Golf Monthly's best par four in Asia in 2003 and is arguably the hardest natural par-4 finish in Thai golf. At 3,200 THB it is 1,550 THB per head cheaper than yesterday for a course of comparable length.

The best course on this itinerary and the hilliest on the island. Jon Morrow and Al Tikkanen routed it through the red rock of Phuket's largest former open-cast tin mine. The 16th is the highest point of any golf course in Phuket — the view behind the green runs across Phuket City to the Big Buddha. The signature par-3 17th, pictured, drops more than 40 metres from a ledge into a valley cut out of red rock. Carts are compulsory.

Stated 4,750 × 8 = 38,000. Billed 38,800. The identical unit price on Day 2 was multiplied correctly, so this is a typo or an undisclosed uplift. Payment happens at the club counter, not to the agent, so get the corrected figure in writing now rather than arguing in a pro shop with eight people waiting.

Day 1 has no vehicle to the first tee, and it is a 50-minute drive
The airport van terminates at the villa in Rawai. Loch Palm's package is explicitly one-way, course to hotel. Nothing in this quote moves 8 people and 8 golf bags 28 km north to Kathu for a 13:00 tee. With a 09:45 landing you have roughly 45 minutes at the villa. Ask the operator to add the outbound leg or you will be scrambling for two Grabs with clubs.

Friday's 06:00 pick-up does not clear a 07:20 tee time
Rawai to Blue Canyon is ~58 km. Even on empty roads that is 70–85 minutes, putting you at the clubhouse between 07:10 and 07:25 — at or after your tee window, with no check-in, no warm-up and no range balls. Move Friday's pick-up to 05:30. Saturday's 06:00 for a 07:30 tee is acceptable; Sunday's 06:30 for a 07:30 tee at Red Mountain leaves about 5 minutes and should go to 06:15.

Departure day wastes two hours driving to Rawai and back
As booked: finish Red Mountain ~12:30, drive 50 min south to Rawai, wait, then 80 min north to the airport, passing Kathu on the way. Red Mountain is 30 km from the airport by the club's own figure, 30–40 minutes. Check out Sunday morning, put the luggage in the transfer van, shower and eat at the Red Mountain clubhouse on the 300 THB coupon, and go straight to the airport. That converts a two-hour dead leg into a relaxed lunch and removes the entire departure-day risk. It needs re-arranging with the operator because the Red Mountain package is booked as course-to-hotel.

Nobody has checked the 14:00 pick-up against an actual check-in cut-off. Confirm the flight before agreeing the transfer time — and note that flag 4 makes this moot if you go direct.

8 Villas Residence appears only as a pick-up address — this is a golf-and-transfer quote, so confirm the villa is separately booked and paid for 30, 31 July and 1 August. And nothing states what happens if a round is abandoned mid-play or a golfer drops out. Late July and early August sit inside Phuket's southwest monsoon. Ask for the rain-check policy per club, in writing. Red Mountain at least was built with heavy drainage specifically for rainy-season cloudbursts.
